This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you:
Paycheck Compass allows you to enter information such as paycheck and other income amounts, expenses, spending plan categories, savings amounts, account allocations, receipt information and other information you choose to enter for personal money planning.
This financial information is stored locally on your device.
The Developer does not operate a server or cloud account that automatically receives or stores this financial information.
We do not use your financial information for advertising or sell it to other companies.
Paycheck Compass may allow you to photograph or select a receipt so that text can be recognised and entered more easily.
The App currently uses Google ML Kit text-recognition technology for this feature.
The receipt image and text being recognised are processed on your device. Google states that ML Kit does not send the input image or text, or the resulting recognised text, to Google's servers as part of that processing.
Google ML Kit may, however, process limited technical information relating to the operation of the technology. This can include information about the device and App, performance information, feature usage, configuration information and error information.
ML Kit may also communicate with Google to obtain items such as updated models, bug fixes or device compatibility information.
This technical information is separate from the financial contents of your receipt.
Paycheck Compass may allow you to create or export a backup containing information stored in the App.
A backup remains under your control unless you choose to send, upload or save it somewhere else.
For example, if you choose to send a backup by email or store it using a cloud-storage or file-sharing service, that service will process the copy you provide according to its own privacy practices.
The Developer does not automatically receive your backup.
Backup files may contain sensitive financial information. You are responsible for storing them securely and protecting any backup passphrase.
Paycheck Compass may be distributed or sold through Google Play.
Google processes payment information and manages the Google Play purchasing system.
The Developer does not receive or store your full payment card details.
Google Play may make limited transaction information available to the Developer through its developer systems where necessary to manage purchases, provide support, investigate purchase issues or process refunds.
Google handles information within Google Play according to Google's own privacy terms.
You do not need to create a Paycheck Compass account or provide an email address simply to use the App.
However, if you email us or otherwise contact us, we will receive the information you choose to provide. This may include your email address, your name if you provide it, the contents of your message, screenshots or files you choose to send, and information relating to a support or purchase issue.
We use this information to respond to you and deal with your request.
Please do not send sensitive financial information unless it is genuinely necessary for us to help with your enquiry.
The Paycheck Compass website does not currently use advertising or behavioural tracking systems operated by us.
The website is hosted using a third-party hosting provider. As with normal website hosting, limited technical information such as an IP address, browser information, requested page and request time may be processed by the hosting infrastructure for delivery, security and reliability.
The current website also uses Google Fonts. This means your browser may connect to Google to obtain font files when loading the website, and standard technical information associated with that request may be processed by Google.
This website functionality does not give the Developer access to the financial information stored inside the Paycheck Compass App.
Paycheck Compass does not use your financial information for targeted advertising.
We do not sell your personal information.
The App does not currently include third-party advertising networks or behavioural advertising trackers.
We do not create advertising profiles based on your income, spending or savings information.
Paycheck Compass does not currently operate its own system for collecting your financial activity for analytics.
Third-party software used by the App may process limited technical diagnostics and usage information as described in this Privacy Policy.
If we introduce additional analytics or data-collection features in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those practices are relied upon where required.
Because your financial information is primarily stored locally, the security of your device is important.
We recommend protecting your device with appropriate security such as a PIN, password, screen lock or biometric authentication.
The Developer cannot prevent another person who has access to an unlocked device from viewing information stored in the App.
Financial information stored in the App: Financial information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App's data or uninstall the App, subject to the way your device and operating system handle backups. Because this information is not automatically stored on our servers, we generally cannot delete it remotely or recover it for you.
Backup files: You control backup files you create. Copies stored in email, cloud storage or another service must be deleted through that service.
Support correspondence: If you contact us, we may retain your correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations.
Purchase information: Purchase records processed through Google Play are retained according to Google's practices and any applicable legal or accounting requirements.
Paycheck Compass is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
We do not knowingly design the App to collect personal information from children.
Depending on where you live and the information involved, privacy law may provide rights relating to personal information held about you.
Because your financial information is normally stored locally on your own device and is not automatically provided to us, you can directly access, change or delete that information within the App or on your device.

Third-party involvement does not mean that those services automatically receive the financial information stored in Paycheck Compass. The information handled depends on the particular service and feature, as explained in this Policy.
Some third-party service providers may process limited information outside Canada.
Where a third-party provider processes information, its own infrastructure, privacy terms and legal obligations may apply.
Your locally stored Paycheck Compass financial information is not automatically uploaded to the Developer simply because you use the App.
We may update this Privacy Policy when Paycheck Compass, its technology, its third-party services or applicable requirements change.
The current version will be published at paycheckcompass.com and will show the date it was last updated.
If a future change materially alters how personal information is collected, used or disclosed, we will provide notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
