By downloading, installing or using Paycheck Compass ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Paycheck Compass is designed to help users organise income, expenses, savings and other parts of a personal spending plan.
The App may provide calculations, percentages, suggested categories, reminders, comparisons and other planning information.
Paycheck Compass is not a bank, financial institution, investment service, lender, money-transfer service or financial adviser.
Paycheck Compass is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
The financial information you enter into Paycheck Compass is stored locally on your device.
Paycheck Compass does not operate a cloud account that stores your paycheck amounts, spending plan, expenses, savings information or receipt contents.
Some limited technical information may be processed by third-party services required to operate particular App features. These services and the information they process are explained in the Paycheck Compass Privacy Policy.
Your use of the App is also subject to that Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for:
The Developer cannot recover locally stored information that has been lost unless you have created a usable backup yourself.
Paycheck Compass may be offered as a paid App or may include paid features, trials, subscriptions or other purchase options.
The purchase arrangement, price, billing frequency and any trial period will be displayed through Google Play before you complete the purchase.
Payments are processed by Google Play. The Developer does not receive or store your full payment card details.
Where a recurring subscription is offered, Google Play will display the applicable renewal and cancellation terms before purchase.
Refund requests may be handled through Google Play or, where appropriate, by the Developer through the Google Play system.
Refund eligibility may depend on Google Play policies, the circumstances of the purchase and applicable consumer protection law.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation or other consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
Paycheck Compass may allow you to create, export, share or restore backup files.
Creating and protecting those backups is your responsibility.
If you choose to send, save or share a backup using email, cloud storage, file-sharing software or another service, that copy will be handled by the service you choose and may leave your device.
The Developer does not automatically receive a copy of your backup.
You should protect backup files and any associated passphrase because they may contain sensitive financial information.
Paycheck Compass may use third-party technology to provide features such as receipt text recognition.
Receipt images and recognised text used for receipt scanning are processed on the device by the text-recognition technology currently used by the App.
The third-party technology may process limited technical information relating to operation, diagnostics, performance and feature usage. Further details are provided in the Privacy Policy.
Paycheck Compass is a personal organisation and planning tool only.
Nothing in the App constitutes financial, legal, tax, accounting, investment or other professional advice.
The App does not know your complete personal circumstances and cannot determine whether any spending amount, savings amount, percentage, category or financial decision is suitable for you.
Any percentages, targets, suggestions or examples shown by the App are provided as planning aids only. You remain solely responsible for your financial decisions.
We aim to make Paycheck Compass accurate and reliable, but software can contain errors.
You should review important calculations and financial information before acting on them.
The Developer does not guarantee that every calculation, estimate, suggestion, receipt scan or other result will always be complete or error-free.
We may update, improve, modify or discontinue features of Paycheck Compass from time to time.
Updates may be required for compatibility, security, legal compliance or continued operation.
We do not guarantee that the App or every feature will always be available on every device or version of Android.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paycheck Compass is provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee that the App will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every person's circumstances or financial planning method.
Nothing in this section excludes warranties or protections that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the App.
This includes losses resulting from inaccurate information entered by a user, financial decisions made by a user, loss of locally stored data, failure to maintain backups, device failure or unauthorized access to an unsecured device.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it will be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.
Paycheck Compass™, CompassPlan™, the App's design, software, graphics, written materials, branding and other original content are owned by or licensed to the Developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may use the App for your own lawful personal use.
You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell or commercially exploit the App or its original materials except where permitted by law or with written permission from the Developer.
You must not intentionally misuse the App, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems associated with it, or use it for unlawful purposes.
Nothing in this section prevents activities that applicable law expressly permits.
These Terms are not intended to exclude, restrict or waive rights or remedies provided to consumers under applicable law where those rights cannot legally be excluded, restricted or waived.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and a mandatory consumer protection law, the mandatory law will apply.
We may update these Terms when the App, its features, its business arrangements or applicable requirements change.
The current version will be posted at paycheckcompass.com with the date it was last updated.
Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, reasonable notice will be provided where required.
You may stop using Paycheck Compass at any time.
We may restrict access to services or features where reasonably necessary because of unlawful use, misuse, security concerns or violation of these Terms.
Uninstalling the App may remove locally stored information from your device. You should create any backup you wish to keep before uninstalling or clearing App data.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply where you live.
Any dispute will be dealt with by a court or other forum having lawful jurisdiction.
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms, together with the Paycheck Compass Privacy Policy and any purchase terms displayed through Google Play, form the agreement relating to your use of Paycheck Compass.
